Giving Thanks

I hope everyone’s Thanksgiving was great! Ours was incredibly nice and we had such a wonderful time with Nick’s family during their visit.

Nick’s parents arrived in D.C. earlier in the week and spent some time sightseeing and visiting the monuments while we worked on Wednesday. We packed a whole lot into the rest of their visit – we went for several walks and familiarized them with our neighborhood, played games, ate and drank a whole bunch, and shared lots and lots of laughs.

Friday was another warm, sunny day so we  drove to Annapolis, Maryland to show Nick’s parents one of our favorite cities to visit. We did some sightseeing around the harbor, stopped into a few shops and ate a simple lunch at Pip’s Dock Street Dogs, where we were harassed by the owner for wanting ketchup on a hotdog 🙂 Our favorite part of the afternoon was touring the beautiful campus of the U.S. Naval Academy, especially since Nick’s dad is a Navy veteran.

We had such a nice Thanksgiving and weekend with Nick’s parents and really enjoyed their visit. Their time in D.C. went quickly, and we were sad to see them leave for home on Saturday morning. Thank goodness that Christmas is right around the corner and we’ll be spending more time with both of our families in only a few short weeks!

  1. It was a terrific week in DC! Dad and I are soooo lucky to have all our children and their wonderful spouses in our life. Can’t wait until Christmas.

  2. What a great post, Sara! Feels like I was right there with you guys. Love the pictures too. We don’t see many with you, Nick and Mom/Dad very often. Can’t wait to see you both at Christmas too!
