To the Market

We braved high temperatures of over 100 degrees this weekend to indulge in some summer fun. Saturday morning we visited Eastern Market flea and farmers market.

After walking around outside for over an hour we cooled down with a mimosa and bloody Mary while we enjoyed a great brunch, complete with homemade Pop-tarts! The restaurant, Ted’s Bulletin, has “adult milkshakes” on its menu, and while we didn’t indulge this time, we are looking forward to a return trip!

Later that night, once things cooled down a *tiny* bit, Nick grilled the fresh vegetables we bought at the farmers market.

On Sunday we took a nice drive out to historic Leesburg, Virginia to visit Old Lucketts Antique Store, where one of the DIY/home bloggers I admire sells her handmade, vintage home goods.

On the way back to D.C. we stopped into a local winery to enjoy some live music and a glass of wine with our picnic lunch.

Is it only us or does everyone’s summer fun always end with a yummy meal!?
